The best time to undertake the Sham Valley Trek is during the months of May to October, when the weather is mild and ideal for trekking.

The maximum altitude reached during the Sham Valley Trek is 3,900 meters at the Mebtak La pass. It is considered a moderate-altitude trek, suitable for acclimatization.

You will stay in Guest Houses in Leh and campsites along the trek. Tents are provided for camping, including a dining tent, toilet tent, and kitchen tent.

All meals are provided during the trek, including breakfast, lunch (packed picnics), and dinner. The meals are prepared by the trek’s cook and are nutritious to fuel you through the trek.

You need to bring a sleeping bag, trekking shoes, sun protection, and personal medication. You can rent sleeping bags if needed.

The weather is cold at higher altitudes with chilly nights. Temperatures can drop to below 5°C, even in the summer. The days are generally pleasant, but it’s essential to be prepared for fluctuating temperatures.

You will fly into Leh Airport. From there, all transportation within Leh and during the trek is by private vehicle.
